Noun Coffee Roastery is a boutique coffee roastery based in Melbourne, known for its focus on high-quality, ethically sourced, single-origin beans. The name "Noun" reflects the brand’s philosophy of coffee as a catalyst for connection, experience, and community. I was tasked with` developing the complete brand identity, including the logo, packaging design, and visual assets.
The brief called for a clean, minimalist aesthetic that would resonate with Melbourne’s urban professionals and coffee enthusiasts. The goal was to create a brand that emphasized quality and simplicity while standing out on both retail shelves and in cafés.
For both the primary and secondary logos, i’ve stuck with a simple, bold, typographic style. It owns it’s name, the quality does the talking. The packaging focuses on a distinct color for each coffee variety, reflecting the unique flavor profiles of the beans, such as the vibrant, bold Kenya AA and the more delicate, floral Ethiopia Yirgacheffe. Each coffee bag includes tasting notes and origin stories ensuring customers can fully appreciate the nuances of each roast. The brand’s overall tone is refined yet approachable, designed to appeal to those who appreciate high-end, thoughtfully crafted coffee.
